Where Do You Place Your Energy?
A few years ago, I read these words of wisdom. This story was a catalyst in changing the way I conduct my thoughts, the words I use and where I place my energy.
An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.
“It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”
The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”
Where do you place your mental energy? Become critical, your subconscious mind drinks in what your conscious mind commands. Think you can’t, focus on fear, lack, illness, want, anxiety, jealousy and failure than many of you are surprised when you get just what you stressed about. It was Joseph Murphy who advised to refuse to give any power to the negative conditions. He states “Whatever your conscious mind assumes and believes to be true, your subconscious mind will accept and bring to pass. Believe in good fortune, divine guidance, right action and the blessings of life.”
So, where do you place your energy?
