Week 80, Volume 80
As I reflect on two words that over the years I believe have handcuffed me into paralysis and, in some respects, have held me back from experiencing my higher self are time and money.
There is an old saying that goes: “When I have the time, I don’t have the money; and, when I have the money, I don’t have the time.”
Seth Godin elegantly addresses the topic in his blog: Time and money.
“I can’t afford it.”
“I don’t have the time.”
…almost always means, “this is not a priority.”
When we care, it’s amazing how much we can get done. One way to choose to care is to be clear about your priorities, which means being clear in your language.
And so, we can say to ourselves: “I’d love to do that, but it’s not a priority.”
Remarkable work is usually accomplished by people who have non-typical priorities.
Each day, it must become a conscious decision to preference your priorities. If it’s important to you, you will make it a priority.
“Good things happen when you get your priorities straight. “ -Scott Cann
